Job Title: Construction Liability Underwriter

Location: North West

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Insurance Industry Sectors: Insurance, Insurer, Construction, Construction Liability.

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Liability Underwriter to join our dynamic and well-respected insurer within the market.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Enhance technical expertise through suitable development programs and ensure compliance with contract certainty requirements for documentation production and issuance.
  • Underwrite insurance risks in alignment with the business plan and personal authority, aiming to meet business objectives, including negotiating rates, terms, and conditions for existing and new business.
  • Analyze and provide input on Construction claims to inform future Underwriting strategies.
  • Assist in coordinating Risk Engineering activities for the portfolio, reviewing Risk Survey reports and seeking additional information when necessary.
  • Contribute to and influence the review and analysis of the portfolio, identifying progress toward business objectives.
  • Maintain adherence to underwriting standards, instructions, and best practices to mitigate risk.
Key Requirements:
  • Prior experience in the construction sector of the insurance industry, ideally with a focus on industrial lines.
  • Effective communication skills, coupled with the ability to challenge and persuade others.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and utilizing data to make informed decisions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with relevant market conditions pertaining to specific classes/portfolios.
  • Thorough understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Comprehension of class-specific underwriting principles and reinsurance practices.
