Job Title: Financial Manager

At FirstRand Bank Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team. As a Financial Manager, you will play a critical role in providing financial services, insights, and strategic guidance to support business operations and achieve financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to business partners on performance reports and variance analysis.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on financial regulations, industry best practices, and provide proactive advice to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and coach behaviors to ensure a service culture that builds rewarding relationships and proposes innovations.
  • Benchmark business performance internally and externally, and deliver management information to support decision-making.
  • Translate business strategy into financial targets and tactical plans, and support execution.
  • Analyze, plan, and manage costs to support business strategies.
  • Define and implement internal and external financial reporting processes and documentation requirements.
  • Apply and monitor governance to ensure alignment with technical committee and costing steerco guidance.
  • Establish and ensure effective and consistent modeling, planning, and forecasting processes.
  • Define, develop, and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and frameworks to efficiently manage practice and provide thought leadership.
  • Design and implement a control framework to ensure the integrity of operations, financial, and accounting practices.
  • Manage and monitor risk to ensure processes fall within risk and audit guidelines.
  • Manage end-to-end finance projects involving a segment, business unit, function, or country/region.
  • Manage the preparation and assessment of tax returns and issues, and provide advice on technical tax issues.
  • Actively coach team members to improve business performance.
  • Plan and manage performance, skills development, succession, and talent management, and culture of team.
  • Cultivate and manage technical working relationships with colleagues and finance professionals across the business and group.
  • Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback, and request training where appropriate.
Requirements:
  • BCom Hons or other relevant hons degree (CA and/or CIMA preferred).
  • 5-8 years of financial management experience post-qualification, with 2-3 years ideally at management level.
  • Experience in managing people.
