Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to join our team as a Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Financial Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the learning process in Financial Accounting/Corporate Financial Reporting for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality course material, lectures, and tutorials in Financial Accounting/Corporate Financial Reporting.
- Set and moderate assessments to ensure students meet the required standards.
- Undertake research and scholarly activities to contribute to the creation of knowledge in the field.
- Supervise postgraduate students and provide guidance on their research projects.
- Engage with professional bodies and other stakeholders to promote the department's research and academic activities.
- Perform related administrative duties to support the department's operations.
Requirements:
- Be a Chartered Accountant (SA) with a relevant doctoral degree (NQF level 10 qualification) specialising in Financial Accounting/Corporate Financial Reporting.
- Have at least 4-7 years of relevant working experience as an Associate Professor or related experience specialising in Financial Accounting/Corporate Financial Reporting.
- Have a thorough understanding of recent trends and developments in the field, including experience with trending technologies such as data and/or accounting analytics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in facilitating learning at the postgraduate level.
- Experience in academic leadership and/or course coordination.
- Relevant knowledge of research methodologies in the field of Financial Reporting/Corporate Financial Reporting.
