We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Travel Designer to join our team. As a Senior Travel Designer, you will be responsible for creating customized travel experiences for our clients, ensuring that every detail is meticulously planned and executed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Reservations Manager to discuss sales potential and agent relationships for all bookings.
  • Ensure all relevant systems, including WISH and TourPlan, are updated in a timely manner.
  • Handle accommodation, flight, transfer, and touring bookings with precision and attention to detail.
  • Respond to agent queries on various matters, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Process any additional changes or updates to itineraries after confirmation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date booking files electronically.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communication to agents at all times.
  • Build strong relationships with agents based on trust, support, and a deep understanding of their business trends and guest needs.
  • Keep agent booking information updated in the ARM, including likes, dislikes, and booking habits.
  • Quote accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Design itineraries that align with company guidelines and product knowledge.
  • Follow up on all outstanding provisional bookings with agents to ensure timely resolution.
  • Measure sales and GP% per agent in conjunction with Sales to drive business growth.
  • Attend relevant familiarization trips to stay up-to-date on industry developments and product offerings.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Matric certificate with a minimum standard grade in mathematics.
  • Tertiary certificate in Travel and Tourism or Hospitality is advantageous.
  • 4-6 years of senior experience in handling customer relationships, developing and promoting products, and building journeys in the inbound travel industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of South Africa, specifically Cape Town, Garden Route, and Safari Destinations, as well as Southern Africa, including Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia, and East Africa, including Zanzibar, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda.
  • Knowledge of Mozambique, Mauritius, and Seychelles is an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Proven English literacy and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of TourPlan and WETU or similar booking/operating systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, dynamic, detail-oriented, organized, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to remain steady in a busy environment, consistent with output, task-driven, and prioritize changes without compromising accuracy.
  • Driven to offer high-quality service levels, strong time management, and strong financial skills.
  • Self-starter with high integrity level and ethical conduct.
