About the Role

This exciting career opportunity is available at Santam Insurance's Corporate Services in the Financial Management department.

The Group Financial Accountant will be part of the financial management, statutory reporting, and IFRS technical function of the Santam group.

This function encompasses both externally directed financial reporting to shareholders and the Board and internally focused reporting regarding management reports.

The objective will be the production of timeous and accurate consolidated financial results to be included in management reports, statutory financial statements, and reports on the overall consolidated financial results for the Santam Group of Companies.

It also includes regular interaction with external auditors and the preparation of IFRS technical memos.

Requirements
  • CA (SA) qualification
  • Financial accounting experience in complex technical environments
  • Consolidation and group reporting experience
  • Experience in the insurance industry

  • Insurance Act and Companies Act knowledge
  • Tax knowledge
  • Computer literacy (Advanced Excel)
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management or similar consolidation systems
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
