The Opportunity

Abbott is committed to empowering people with diabetes to monitor and track their glucose levels with accuracy and ease. As a Market Access and Key Accounts Manager, you will play a critical role in securing market access, coverage, and reimbursement for our products and services with payors across South Africa.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute market access strategies to expand our business in existing markets and identify opportunities in new markets.
  • Manage all aspects of tender management, including government and private tenders, to ensure successful product listing and adoption on formularies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in the healthcare system, Medical Aids, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and key opinion leaders.
  • Negotiate and review pricing for all private funders, retailers, wholesalers, and tenders.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to drive growth opportunities and address key risks.
  • Play a major role in introducing new products to the country to ensure successful launch and continuity of product.

Requirements:


• Relevant medical or healthcare qualification is essential.

Preferred Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years in a Market Access Manager role.
  • Extensive relationships and experience with key stakeholders and knowledge of the South Africa healthcare environment.
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and reach out to other divisions in Abbott Laboratories.
  • Successful experience in the Market Access space.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
