Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Acquisition Specialist to join our team in South Africa. As a key member of our Resilient Cities Program, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of procurement, from initiation to closeout.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with USAID regulations and Tetra Tech processes. You will maintain and train staff on updated program policies, procedures, and guidelines related to acquisitions.

You will lead and/or oversee procurement processes, including drafting/reviewing request for proposals and quotations, conducting bid analyses and evaluations, drafting negotiation memoranda, and issuing purchase orders.

In addition, you will ensure that procurement and subcontracting records are maintained in accordance with Tetra Tech systems.

You will manage subcontracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, public administration, finance, or another related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in finances or project management. Experience working in a similar position for a USAID contractor is highly preferred.
  • Experience in contracting for construction is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Salesforce desirable.
  • Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations regarding procurement and subcontracting management.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license desirable.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral). Fluency in Portuguese would be beneficial.
