Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement renewable energy systems designs that meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to inform design and cost estimation for new projects.
  • Prepare detailed budgets and financial projections for proposed projects.
  • Create accurate and detailed drawings for construction and information purposes.
  • Perform calculations and documentation necessary for utility approval.
  • Develop as-built drawings and bills of quantities for installations.
  • Simulate system performance and production using industry-standard tools.
  • Participate in commissioning teams on-site during project commissioning.
  • Provide engineering support for operations and maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to the development of design tools and resources for the engineering department.
  • Collaborate with project managers to address engineering-related project issues.
  • Lead a team of project engineers, interns, and draughtsmen to complete designs.
  • Review and approve designs from project engineers and interns for compliance with regulations and standards.
Requirements:
  • A minimum qualification of PR Eng in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
  • Excellent computer literacy and proficiency in design and visualization software.
  • Ability to work on multiple disciplines and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to work within budgets and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity.
