As a key member of our academic team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Computer Science.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and assess students in advanced Computer Science modules, including Data Structures, Advanced Programming, Automata Theory, Compiler Theory, and Artificial Intelligence.
- Supervise postgraduate students at Honours, Masters, and Doctoral levels, ensuring their successful completion of their qualifications.
- Conduct and lead research in the Department's research areas, publishing regularly in accredited journals.
- Mentor junior colleagues in the principles of good learning, teaching, and assessment practices.
- Represent the Department at relevant Faculty and University learning and teaching forums.
- Lead in the initiation of Departmental engagement activities, including engagement with schools, industry, and other external stakeholders.
- A Doctoral degree in Computer Science.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as an Associate Professor, incorporating teaching experience, conducting and leading research activities, and engagement activity involvement in the field of Computer Science.
- Involvement in institutional organisational functions at a management level.
- Proven credible research and engagement record.
- Proven research publication record in accredited, high-quality journals.
- Supervised a sustained number of Masters and Doctoral students to successful completion.
- Record of mentoring new academics and early-career researchers.
- Conducted collaborative research in international research teams.
- Have successfully obtained research grants.
