Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Head Chef to elevate our dining experience at Pezula Nature Reserve, a haven of untamed beauty along South Africa's breathtaking Garden Route. As a visionary culinary leader, you will craft exquisite dishes that blend the finest local ingredients with the elegance of our upscale accommodations, surrounded by the serene, untouched wilderness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative menus that showcase the best of local cuisine
  • Lead and manage a high-performing kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional results
  • Collaborate with our culinary team to create memorable dining experiences for our guests
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying knowledge to drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, budgeting, and supplier management
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in high-end dining
  • Formal training and strong knowledge of various cuisines
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a kitchen team
  • Understanding of food safety standards and regulations
  • Experience with budgeting and supplier management
  • Ability to develop innovative dishes and menus
  • Strong decision-making skills and excellent interpersonal skills
