In the Southern Africa region, our sales team operates within the Vestas Mediterranean framework, a Sales Business Unit of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the premier manufacturer of wind turbines globally. The position of Sales Manager is primarily focused on sales while also necessitating collaboration across diverse functions in an international context to implement Vestas' commercial objectives. This role encompasses the management of complex and high-value renewable energy projects within a vibrant and inclusive work culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and pursue sales prospects within the designated region.
  • Enhance the process of bid management.
  • Negotiate and finalize agreements for projects.
  • Leverage Vestas' technical and engineering support, along with wind resource evaluations, to assist clients in conducting wind site assessments and technical configurations.
  • Inform potential customers about the advantages of wind energy and its optimization opportunities.
  • Support Vestas' promotional initiatives, marketing, and branding efforts by acting as a 'Vestas Ambassador'.
  • Develop, evaluate, and report on sales methodologies.
  • Build customer loyalty by providing exceptional support and professionalism throughout the sales process, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Collaborate with Vestas' Structured Finance team to aid clients in financing wind farms and connecting them with appropriate financial institutions.

Qualifications

  • A degree in engineering, business, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or specialized master's in Finance/Engineering are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Sales or Business Development within relevant markets, particularly in Southern Africa.
  • Knowledge of the Energy Sector and the Renewable/Wind Energy Market is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with the economic, political, and cultural contexts of target countries, coupled with an open cultural mindset.
