About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the recovery and complex claims function within our organization. This includes identifying potential 3rd party recovery matters, referring them to Santam's Legal department or recovery attorneys, and liaising with brokers concerning open claims.

Main Responsibilities
  • Closely monitor and manage daily estimates and updates as well as note attachment to the system.
  • Appoint and manage service providers (e.g., repairers and replacement providers) to ensure efficient claims processing.
  • Negotiate fair settlements and ensure maximum cost savings are achieved.
  • Manage claims in terms of SLA's and appoint assessors and liaise with them closely during the course of the claim.
Requirements
  • Matric certification.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years personal lines, short-term insurance claims handling experience.
  • A law degree is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of legal and OSTI processes.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a management position with a proven track record of successful business management.
