Job Summary

As the Chief Risk Officer for CIB Pan Africa, you will be responsible for leading the risk management function across all countries and international offices. You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer: Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) to ensure effective risk management and governance of the CIB business in Pan Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an integrated risk management framework that aligns with the Group's risk appetite and strategy.
  • Provide risk management guidance and support to business units and country CEOs to ensure effective risk management and governance.
  • Collaborate with the Group Chief Risk Officer and other risk functions to ensure consistency and alignment of risk management practices across the Group.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, regulators, and external partners.
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Monitor and report on risk exposures and trends, and provide recommendations for mitigation and remediation.
  • Ensure effective risk governance, including the establishment and maintenance of risk committees and working groups.
  • Develop and maintain a risk culture that promotes a proactive and risk-aware approach to business.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in risk management, with a strong background in banking and finance.
  • Proven track record of leading risk management teams and developing and implementing effective risk management frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
