Job Summary

As a key member of the Wasteplan team, the Human Resources Officer will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to management and staff. This includes maintaining accurate personnel records, ensuring compliance with labor legislation, and facilitating effective employee relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Administration
    • Prepare and manage payroll documents for all staff members
    • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of attendance registers, working hours, and overtime
    • Manage the KWMF payroll and administration
  • Personnel Administration
    • Ensure that new personnel inductions are carried out effectively
    • Assist with injury on duty reports and WCA claims processing
    • Maintain and update personnel filing systems and HR records
    • Process and manage leave applications and records
  • Employee Relations
    • Advise and assist line management and staff on code of conduct and company policies
    • Provide support and guidance on HR-related queries and issues
    • Schedule and manage disciplinary hearings and grievance proceedings
  • Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to labor legislation, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Employment Equity Act
    • Report compliance gaps to the National HR Manager
  • Recruitment and Selection
    • Ensure recruitment and selection procedures align with company policy
    • Assist with interview arrangements and candidate feedback
    • Record and maintain recruitment documentation
Requirements
  • Grade 12 and HR-related diploma/degree
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the HR field
  • Knowledge of South African labor legislation
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid code 8 driver's license
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
