Job Title: Assistant Lodge Manager

Zeebra Junction Specialist Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Lodge Manager to join our team at a Deluxe award-winning Safari Lodge in Limpopo.

Job Summary

The Assistant Lodge Manager will assist the Lodge Manager in managing the lodge, creating a profound guest experience, and exceeding guest expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring hospitality service, maintenance, gardening, and housekeeping standards, ensuring the lodge operates in a cost-effective manner, and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships between staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lodge Manager in managing the lodge and creating a guest experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Monitor hospitality service, maintenance, gardening, and housekeeping standards to ensure the lodge operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Manage the lodge's budget and ensure that expenses are within agreed limits.
  • Recruit, train, and develop lodge staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure that all lodge operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years' work experience in a similar role, preferably in a well-recognized five-star hotel or world-class lodge.
  • Exceptional food and beverage knowledge.
  • Financial management ability.
  • Hardworking, co-operative manner.
  • High standards of service excellence and a passion for the industry.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Exceptional English and a second language would be preferable.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Excellent management ability and communication skills.
  • A clear understanding of basic labor law and disciplinary procedures.
  • A developmental approach to staff.
  • Assertiveness, patience, and good organizational skills.
  • Understanding of housekeeping and maintenance procedures.
  • An awareness of developments within the food and lodge industries, as well as international trends in hospitality.
