Job Title: Meat Cutter

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at MSC Cruises. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of raw and frozen meat and fish items.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Safety and Handling: Ensure all food is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with MSC Cruises' food safety standards.
  • Temperature Control: Regularly check refrigerators for performance, physical condition, and temperatures, and report any irregularities to the Chief Butcher.
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize all food contact surfaces, including worktops, can openers, knives, and other implements.
  • Meat Preparation: Wash and prepare all meat and fish items according to company requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Collect daily supplies required for the immediate from the Provisions area and ensure all food carried to and from the section is covered and carried in appropriate containers.
  • Quality Control: Report any discrepancy of meat or fish, quality and specification.
  • Teamwork: Work in a harmonious productive team environment and enforce regulations that prohibit unauthorized personnel entering the meat and fish preparation area.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year of work experience in a similar position.
  • Skills: Demonstrated understanding and practical knowledge of Food Safety, ability to work in a team environment, and proven ability to follow company procedures.
Documents Required:
  • Valid Passport: A valid South African passport.
  • Police Clearance: A police clearance certificate.
