Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Public Administration Specialist to join our team at the University of the Free State. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Public Policy and Public Administration modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as performing academic administration tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public administration, with a doctoral degree on NQF Level 10 or a master's degree on NQF Level 9 with a proven record of teaching and research experience. They will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of curriculum and contribute to the academic activities of the department, including presentations at national and international conferences. They will also participate in additional academic activities, such as serving on committees and conducting research projects.

Inherent Requirements

  • A Doctoral degree on NQF Level 10 that is relevant to the field of Public Administration and Management (permanent appointment).
  • A masters degree on NQF Level 9 that is relevant to the field of Public Administration and Management (contract appointment: 5 years, during which a doctoral degree on NQF Level 10 that is relevant to the field of Public Administration and Management must be obtained to be converted into a permanent appointment).
  • Proven record of teaching Public Administration and Management modules at an undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Proven experience in supervising to completion of honours students.
