Main Responsibilities

Sustainability and Governance

Technical Services
  1. Prepare customer orders according to internal procedures.
  2. Ensure equipment dispatched meets customer specifications.
  3. Update spreadsheets with ordered equipment details.
  4. Perform quality control on assessed and prepared equipment.
  5. Provide technical support on laptops, desktops, and related equipment as needed.
  6. Conduct onsite assessments and data erasure as required.
  7. Update BIOS across various OEMs, including laptops, desktops, and related assets.
  8. Assist the receiving department with technical queries on returned assets.
  9. Support other departments as needed, even if outside normal work scope.
  10. Clean, rebuild, and inspect returned assets before assessment.
  11. Verify assets for aesthetic defects, hardware configuration, and OS setup.
  12. Assess all returned assets (desktops, laptops, servers, printers, networking equipment).
  13. Use internal systems for data erasure on all returned assets.
  14. Repair level 1 desktop PCs and laptops as required.
  15. Maintain equipment as needed.
Core ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
  1. Analyse productivity data and adjust staffing and production capacity accordingly.
  2. Stay current with industry trends and best practices, including sector risks and opportunities.
  3. Design new processes to improve quality, productivity, or profitability.
  4. Manage stock control and perform inventory checks.
  5. Communicate process changes to relevant parties.
  6. Ensure health and safety compliance.
  7. Document procedures for third-party monitoring.
  8. Create and monitor projects and teams.
  9. Review workloads and personnel to ensure targets are met.
  10. Support the executive team's vision and strategy.
Financial Management
  1. Manage departmental budgets.
  2. Optimise stock levels according to stockholding targets.
  3. Find innovative ways to unlock cash tied in inventory.
Staff Leadership and Management
  1. Resource teams effectively to achieve business and operational targets.
  2. Drive the effective achievement of company group objectives through leadership, objective setting, performance management, and team motivation.
  3. Build and manage a high-performing team by providing leadership, role clarity, training, and career development.
  4. Foster open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions as needed.
  5. Define roles, responsibilities, individual goals, and performance objectives for the team.
  6. Set KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-structured performance review program within the business unit.
  7. Manage resources according to relevant policy and legislation.
  8. Promote a 'company-centric' and 'partnership approach' to develop strong relationships with other working groups and adhere to Group governance.
Governance, Risk, and Business Continuity Management
  1. Evaluate and ensure that suitable governance systems are in place, aligned with future requirements.
  2. Continuously assess the competitiveness of all operations programs and practices against comparable companies, industries, and markets.
  3. Stay updated on new trends and innovations in operations.
  4. Manage business risk through ongoing internal and external monitoring of business impact and stakeholder needs.
  5. Lead and guide improvement projects to increase profits or mitigate risks in the function.
External Partnerships and Relationship Management
  1. Oversee relationships with service providers to ensure proper delivery of services, evaluate consultant performance, and report deviations to the relevant department for corrective action.
  2. Work closely with other department heads to enhance efficiency.
