- Assist the receiving department with technical queries on returned assets.
- Support other departments as needed, even if outside normal work scope.
- Clean, rebuild, and inspect returned assets before assessment.
- Verify assets for aesthetic defects, hardware configuration, and OS setup.
- Assess all returned assets (desktops, laptops, servers, printers, networking equipment).
- Use internal systems for data erasure on all returned assets.
- Repair level 1 desktop PCs and laptops as required.
- Maintain equipment as needed.
- Analyse productivity data and adjust staffing and production capacity accordingly.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices, including sector risks and opportunities.
- Design new processes to improve quality, productivity, or profitability.
- Manage stock control and perform inventory checks.
- Communicate process changes to relevant parties.
- Ensure health and safety compliance.
- Document procedures for third-party monitoring.
- Create and monitor projects and teams.
- Review workloads and personnel to ensure targets are met.
- Support the executive team's vision and strategy.
- Manage departmental budgets.
- Optimise stock levels according to stockholding targets.
- Find innovative ways to unlock cash tied in inventory.
- Resource teams effectively to achieve business and operational targets.
- Drive the effective achievement of company group objectives through leadership, objective setting, performance management, and team motivation.
- Build and manage a high-performing team by providing leadership, role clarity, training, and career development.
- Foster open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions as needed.
- Define roles, responsibilities, individual goals, and performance objectives for the team.
- Set KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-structured performance review program within the business unit.
- Manage resources according to relevant policy and legislation.
- Promote a 'company-centric' and 'partnership approach' to develop strong relationships with other working groups and adhere to Group governance.
- Evaluate and ensure that suitable governance systems are in place, aligned with future requirements.
- Continuously assess the competitiveness of all operations programs and practices against comparable companies, industries, and markets.
- Stay updated on new trends and innovations in operations.
- Manage business risk through ongoing internal and external monitoring of business impact and stakeholder needs.
- Lead and guide improvement projects to increase profits or mitigate risks in the function.
- Oversee relationships with service providers to ensure proper delivery of services, evaluate consultant performance, and report deviations to the relevant department for corrective action.
- Work closely with other department heads to enhance efficiency.
