Maintenance Foreman Job Description

At Flink Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Foreman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our company's machinery, equipment, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise the maintenance and repair of our company's machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assign and monitor the work of the maintenance team, ensuring quality of maintenance and timeliness of service.
  • Train, coach, evaluate, and monitor the performance of the maintenance staff, providing feedback and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with our company's policies and procedures, as well as local and national rules, regulations, and standards, regarding health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of our company's machinery, equipment, and facilities, identifying and resolving any issues or risks.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of the maintenance activities, trends, costs, and inventory.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, as needed, for the procurement and delivery of spare parts, tools, and services.
  • Provide technical support and advice to other departments, as required, for the operation and maintenance of our company's machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Report any near misses, incidents, accidents, risk hazards, or malfunctions to the Reliability & Engineering Manager and take corrective and preventive actions, as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Matric or equivalent.
  • National Trade Test Fitter or Millwright or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years Experience in Artisan Fitter/Millwright.
  • 5+ years Supervisor/Foreman experience.
  • Experience in Boilers/Pumps/Conveyors.
  • Extensive experience using planned maintenance systems, especially Pragma or SAP.
  • Able to work methodically and systematically.
  • Strong leadership skills.
