Transformational Portfolio Leader

The Strategic Portfolio Manager function plays a pivotal role in driving business value delivery across various organisational functions, aligning with strategic goals. This role requires collaboration and effective working relationships to ensure successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Program/Portfolio Management: Develop and implement strategic plans for portfolios, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Leadership and Direction: Provide leadership and guidance to programme teams, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Enterprise Business Analysis: Conduct thorough business analysis to inform decision-making and drive business growth.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Budgeting and Costing: Develop and manage budgets, ensuring accurate costing and financial management.
- Project Benefit Realisation: Identify and realise benefits from programmes and projects, demonstrating value to the organisation.
- Project/Program Governance: Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, ensuring compliance and risk management.
- Project Program Team Management: Lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Portfolio Reporting and Review: Provide regular reporting and review of portfolio performance, informing strategic decisions.
- Innovation Strategy, Pipeline and Roadmap: Develop and implement innovative strategies, pipelines, and roadmaps to drive business growth and improvement.
- Project Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues, ensuring programme success.
- Project Resource Management: Manage resources effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and utilisation.
- Excellent portfolio, program, and project management skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-year initiatives.
- Solid understanding of IT systems (COTS, SAAS, PAAS, ITAAS), process modelling, business capability modelling, and innovation management.
- At least 10 years of work experience in a project management capacity, leading multiple initiatives.
- At least 5 years of portfolio management experience.
- Experience in setting up a strategic PMO, portfolio office (advantageous).
- Managerial experience: 5 or more years of experience in a leadership position.
- Experience of planning, managing, and organising resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.
