Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at IOCO. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our critical systems, including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, batteries, inverters, and fire suppression systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and general maintenance of UPS units, batteries, inverters, and fire suppression systems in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Ensuring UPS installations are safe and ready to be commissioned, then performing correct commissioning steps as per the UPS OEM Commissioning Procedure.
  • Ensuring that UPS units are installed according to exact requirements and regulations meeting ruling Electrical Installation Regulations.
  • Repairing damaged units using manufacturer's standards and spare parts.
  • Testing all UPS units before leaving work, ensuring that they are mechanically sound, inverter set at correct voltages, rectifier correctly calibrated, switches between static and inverter without dropping the load, UPS runs off battery (Mains fail test), and load test the UPS and ensuring that battery charging parameters are set right.
  • Attending to client UPS issues as and when requested.
  • Performing additional work outputs related to the role.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of function-related experience.
  • 5-8 years of leading teams experience.
  • 5-8 years of project experience.
  • 5 years of UPS experience.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12.
  • Electrical Engineering Diploma/Degree.

Work Environment:

  • Office, warehouse, and site environment.
  • Physical demands: site environment, moving of heavy equipment such as batteries.
  • Travel: travel to sites on a daily basis, have your own reliable transport.
