Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Facilities Technician to join our team. As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our data center infrastructure, ensuring the highest level of reliability and availability for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on data center equipment, including UPSs, PDUs, generators, and building controls.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Implement energy efficiency measures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage and implement innovation and other initiatives to improve availability, reliability, and asset life cycle.
  • Collaborate with other team members to resolve difficult facility incidents and identify underlying issues.
Requirements
  • National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or N6 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Trade Test.
  • Matric (Senior Certificate).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the data center maintenance field.
  • Practical knowledge of working on air circuit breakers, UPS, chillers, CRAH, CRAC, FCU, generators, and PLCs.
  • Intermediate skill level in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Knowledge of the OHS Act and ability to assist in supervising all machinery on site.
