Job Title: Senior Living Facility General Manager

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate General Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the highest standards of care for elderly residents.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead various departments, manage a staff of around 55, and maintain close communication with the board of volunteers. With a focus on both operational excellence and resident care, the General Manager will embrace the facility's cultural heritage and work to maintain strong relationships within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operational management of the facility, including the medical department, catering, housekeeping, and administration
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain high standards of care for residents
  • Manage a team of 55 staff members, providing leadership, training, and support
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new residents and maintain the pipeline of potential residents
  • Oversee the financial health of the facility, including budgeting and fundraising efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with the Italian community and external partners
  • Address union-related issues in collaboration with HR consultants
  • Foster a culture of transparency, inclusivity, and continuous improvement within the home
Requirements:
  • Management Degree
  • Medical Qualification (Highly Beneficial)
  • Speak Italian / Or willingness to learn the Italian language within a year
  • Proven leadership experience in healthcare, residential care, or hospitality sectors
  • Knowledge of geriatric care and healthcare regulations
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and fundraising
  • Experience in marketing and promoting services
  • Ability to handle union-related matters
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to resident care
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
