Program Overview

The Adolescent and Young People (AYP) Program is a strategic health and development communication initiative implemented by the Centre for Communication Impact. The program aims to empower AYPs with knowledge, skills, and values to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Role Description:

The Peer Group Trainer will be responsible for facilitating peer education, dialogues, and recreational services in safe spaces and communities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating demand for program interventions, enrolling eligible and interested AYPs, and conducting risk assessments, providing HIV tests, and referring beneficiaries for required services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Foster partnerships with community stakeholders to promote the AYP Program.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase program enrollment and retention rates.
  • Collaborate with the Out of School Manager to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Provide support and guidance to program beneficiaries as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Facilitation Skills Training
  • Basic interviewing and probing skills
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
