About Us

We are Tracker, a leading provider of vehicle tracking solutions. We require a skilled RF Network Specialist to join our team and help us deliver exceptional service to our customers.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in radio frequency network engineering, with a proven track record of delivering high-availability networks. They will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our existing radio frequency network, ensuring maximum availability and minimum downtime.

The RF Network Specialist will work closely with our Network Planning Personnel to identify areas where RF coverage is inadequate and commission new sites as needed. They will also be responsible for managing an effective preventative maintenance plan, installing, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading telemetry field units, and managing inventory control systems.

A National Diploma, Higher National Diploma or B-Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) is essential, along with a minimum of five years' work experience in a telecommunications environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and administrative skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure maximum availability of the radio frequency network with minimum downtime.
  2. Maintain, repair and upgrade the radio frequency network, including high sites and repeater sites.
  3. Identify areas where RF coverage is inadequate and commission new sites.
  4. Manage preventative maintenance plans.
  5. Install, maintain, repair and upgrade telemetry field units.
  6. Manage inventory control systems.
Qualifications
  • National Diploma, Higher National Diploma or B-Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering (Light Current).
  • Minimum of five years' work experience in a telecommunications environment.
  • Technical knowledge of RF systems, communication systems and antennas.
  • Good fault finding and analytical skills.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Be prepared to travel.
  • Be computer literate (Linux, MS Windows, MS Office) and a self-starter.
