About the Role

This position involves overseeing instrumentation-related activities at a mining operation. As an Instrumentation Superintendent, you will lead a team of technicians and ensure that instrumentation equipment is properly installed, maintained, and repaired to support safe and efficient mining practices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team of instrumentation technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure effective task completion.
  2. Implement preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize instrumentation equipment performance.
  3. Work with engineering and operations teams to install, calibrate, and commission new instrumentation equipment as needed.
  4. Regularly inspect and audit instrumentation systems to detect and resolve issues promptly.
  5. Verify compliance with relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  6. Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  7. Develop and provide training for instrumentation technicians to enhance their skills and career prospects.
  8. Track and report key performance indicators related to instrumentation performance, suggesting improvements when necessary.

Essential Qualifications

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • National Diploma (NQF 6)
  • Measurement, Control, and Instrumentation Trade Test Certificate

Benefits Package

  • Salary range: R600K-R800K per annum
  • Family Responsibility Leave (subject to eligibility)
