We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with theatre experience to join our team at Life Peglerae Hospital.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the provision of high-quality patient care.
You will be responsible for assisting the surgical team during procedures, managing theatre equipment, and ensuring that all medical waste is disposed of properly.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing theatre-specific training and assessing the competence of staff.
Critical ResponsibilitiesEffective Financial Management:
- Managing theatre clocking time to ensure accurate charging.
- Charging consignment stock, equipment and prosthesis according to policy.
- Participating in regular stock taking and controlling consignment stock in accordance with hospital policy.
Theatre Operations:
- Ensuring the correct use of theatre equipment and instrumentation by educating and supervising staff.
Patient Care Services:
- Obtaining pre-operative information and visiting patients post-operatively.
- Ensuring patient comfort and assisting doctors during surgical procedures.
People Development:
- Providing theatre-specific training and assessing the competence of staff.
- Assisting Unit Manager to monitor normal and overtime hours.
- Theatre team working according to scope of practice.
- Giving feedback to Unit Manager to assess optimal performance.
SHREQ Best Practices:
- Using personal protective clothing and complying with ISO requirements.
- Disposing of medical waste to effectively control infection.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Attending review and consultative form meetings to maintain healthy relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Maintaining healthy relationship with external stakeholders by reporting unresolved issues to Unit Manager.
- General Nursing Degree/Diploma.
- Registration with SANC.
- Diploma in Specialty.
- Relevant experience and technical skill to meet critical responsibilities.
- Understanding of private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players advantageous.
