As a key member of LMP RECRUIT, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that all aspects of production are efficiently and effectively managed to meet production objectives from a quantity and quality perspective within the appropriate time scales and following the agreed standards.

Key Requirements

• Hold a qualification in Production / Management / Business Management at NQF level 6 or above (diploma or degree)

• Experience in a similar role in FMCG

• In-depth understanding of the production functions and processes and how these work together

• Management of people and shifts

• Computer literate

• Building teamwork

• Planning and organisation

• Problem solving and using judgment

• Leadership and people management skills

• Innovative and able to take initiative

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the production plan by assessing it against the business objectives and priorities on an ongoing basis and reporting on it daily

• Ensure that unplanned downtime of machines and equipment is less than 60 minutes per shift per machine

• Report timeously on faults or maintenance required and take a proactive stance to ensure machine uptime

• Streamline the workflow within the entire production unit to avoid bottlenecks

• Manage the quality management system to ensure audit results are greater than 90%

• Ensure that all EHACCP is managed and completed timeously and accurately 100% of the time

• Maintain adherence to HACCP and AIB standards in a timeous and accurate manner to ensure accreditation is achieved and maintained

• Ensure employee attendance is managed and that individual problem areas are addressed as they occur in consultation with HR

• Ensure that employees within the production unit are utilised to their full potential, ensuring that they are appropriately trained to use machinery and processes

• Conduct meetings with supervisors and staff to ensure all divisions needs and priorities are communicated and understood

• Ensure that information regarding the daily plan, priorities and challenges is fed back by supervisors and understood and communicated to all relevant parties effectively

Towards Excellence

• Initiate and maintain the Mini Business Programme

• Use initiative in all aspects of production, ensuring that the company is following best practice against market trends and put forward improvement plans to management

• Ensure that the company is following best practice against market trends and implement improvements

Health and Safety Management

• Oversee and manage the housekeeping and health and safety processes, taking into account OHSA, HACCP and any other measures in place

• Ensure that employees understand their responsibilities and are appropriately trained

• Ensure that machinery and equipment is in good working order at all times

• Maintain a presence and proper reporting on the Health and Safety Committee

• Ensure that the monthly Health and Safety checklist is completed accurately and timeously by those responsible
