Waste Management Operations Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Waste Management Operations Coordinator to join our team at Level-Up.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of waste/refuse management, ensuring accurate billing and reducing waste costs. This role requires strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify municipal utility accounts for accuracy and ensure correct waste collection costs.
- Work with Facilities Management to contract the correct number and type of municipal bins.
- Audit and verify all waste billing information on municipal invoices with Facilities Management reports.
- Perform variance analysis for buildings we manage in-house and those by outsourced service providers.
- Partner with Facilities Management to investigate recycling options and negotiate lower contract prices.
- Liaise with Facilities Management to ensure timely bin placement and logging calls with council if bins are not cleared.
- Ensure waste areas are kept clean and waste is collected timeously, and damaged/obsolete bins are replaced.
Reporting and Utility Management
- Maintain performance reports and standardized building reports for all buildings.
- Provide additional reports or reconciliations as requested by the billing manager.
- Engage with municipalities, perform on-site meter readings, and data entry/capture of meter readings.
- Review billing methodologies, ensure correct tariffs, and manage relationships between Company/Municipalities.
- Regular reporting and risk management, utility accounting, and administration functions.
Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of municipal processes, tariffs, and waste handling.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills, basic computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Interpret and relay instructions, directions, and transfer information accurately in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and municipalities.
