A career opportunity exists for a self-motivated individual as a Policy Administration Specialist in the Santam Agriculture Crop within Operations in Bloemfontein.

Job Description
  • Validation and processing of policies is a key responsibility.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for swiftly and accurately processing policy amendments on the system.
  • Handling policy documentation is also an essential part of this role.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Grade 12 qualification is required.
  • 3 – 4 years of experience in Crop Insurance is necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • To ensure that policies are debited accurately, timeously and verified.
  • The role involves executing policy amendments on debited policies via Inspection reports and/or MPCI reports.
  • Distribution of amended policy documents to Area Managers and Brokers is also a task.
  • Providing training and support to Area Managers and Brokers is an important duty.
  • Finalising incomplete policies and attending to underwriting issues is also part of this role.
  • Daily interaction with Area Managers, Intermediaries, and other departments in the SBU is necessary.
  • Actioning error reports for correction on policies and ensuring no duplication of insurance is crucial.
  • Handling and following up on enquiries - telephonic, electronic and in writing - is also an essential task.
  • Handling Inspection reports and MPCI reports is also a key responsibility.
  • Logging incidents for system errors is necessary.
  • Compiling and updating manuals on policy system is also an important duty.
  • Collecting signed policy documents from intermediaries is also a task.
  • Handling and registering cessions is also a key responsibility.
  • Handling all policy system administrative duties is also necessary.
Skills
  • Knowledge of Guidewire Crop System to issue policies is required.
  • Portal knowledge, specifically MPCI reports, is necessary.
  • Broker Portal knowledge to assist brokers with queries is also required.
  • Crop Product knowledge is essential.
  • Numeric skills are necessary.
  • Knowledge of policy conditions is crucial.
  • Knowledge of Crop Insurance and Procedures is also required.
  • Good communication skills - Verbal and Written - are necessary.
