Job Description

Regional Coordinator Job Summary

COOPI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Coordinator to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a key member of our regional team, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic management of our programs in Eastern Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Institutional Relationships
    • Develop and maintain relationships with country coordinators, institutions, and donors in the region.
    • Coordinate with the CEO to promote COOPI's interests and goals in the region.
  • Strategy and Planning
    • Develop and implement the regional strategic plan, in collaboration with the country coordinators and other stakeholders.
    • Coordinate the development of project proposals and budgets, in line with COOPI's policies and procedures.
  • Administrative and Financial Management
    • Oversee the financial management of COOPI's programs in the region, including budget analysis and forecasting.
    • Ensure compliance with COOPI's financial policies and procedures, as well as those of our donors.
  • Institutional Communication and Fundraising
    • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote COOPI's work in the region.
    • Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities to support COOPI's programs in the region.
Requirements
  • Essentials
    • University degree in a relevant field, such as international relations, cooperation, or development.
    • At least 10 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in a humanitarian or development organization.
    • Excellent knowledge of English and Italian languages, both written and spoken.
    • Previous experience in project management, fundraising, and team leadership.
  • Soft Skills
    • Proactive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a multicultural team and adapt to changing circumstances.
Assets
  • Previous experience in COOPI or a similar organization.
  • Knowledge of the Eastern Africa region and its cultural context.
