We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Communications to lead and manage both internal and external communication strategies for a clinical research network across Africa. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive internal and external communication strategies in line with the company's mission and business objectives.
  • Serve as the company's spokesperson and manage media relationships, representing the organization at industry events and public forums.
  • Design and manage internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged, working with HR and leadership teams.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content for the website, social media, and marketing, ensuring clarity and alignment with the company's voice and goals.
  • Ensure consistency across all company communications and maintain brand integrity across platforms.
  • Build relationships with patients, healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and other partners to strengthen the organization's reputation.
  • Develop and execute crisis communication plans to manage potential reputational risks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (required); advanced degree in Communications, Healthcare Communications, or Public Relations is a plus.
  • 8-10 years of experience in communications or public relations, ideally within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or clinical research industries.
  • Proven experience in creating and executing successful communications strategies.
  • Expertise in media relations, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement within regulated industries.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, ability to simplify complex scientific concepts for various audiences, established relationships with healthcare and scientific media, proficiency with digital communication tools, and project management abilities.
