Industrial Engineer Job Description

RPO Recruitment is seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer to enhance efficiency and optimize production processes within a leading logistics services company in Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process upgrades, ensuring seamless workflow and minimal waste
  • Prepare detailed reports on production performance and operational efficiency, highlighting key metrics and recommendations
  • Design and optimize layouts to maximize workflow and enhance productivity
  • Train and mentor staff on new protocols and best practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Manage project timelines and ensure adherence to budget constraints, prioritizing resource allocation and minimizing costs
  • Play a key role in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices, driving process excellence and eliminating non-value-added activities
  • Conduct regular assessments of production equipment and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, with a strong foundation in analytical methods and problem-solving techniques
  • Proven experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing/logistics environment, with a track record of delivering process improvements and driving efficiency gains
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making and a keen eye for detail
  • Proficiency in process mapping and Lean methodologies, with the ability to apply these principles to drive process excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, with a focus on building strong relationships and promoting a culture of teamwork
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering simulation software, with the ability to apply these tools to drive process improvements and optimize production workflows
