Job Title: Senior HR Officer

Main Stream Personnel in Pretoria East is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Senior HR Officer to join their team. As a key member of the HR department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of HR systems and processes.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for various key functions within the HR department, including employee contracts and policies, administration of HR systems, leave management, scanning and filing, industrial relations, payroll processing, exit processes, union support, employment equity, and skills development.

  1. Responsibilities:
  2. Employee Contracts & Policies: Compilation, issuance, and collection of employee contracts and policies for all new employees.
  3. Administration of HR: Loading new employees on HR database, transferring employees on VIP Payroll, and full administration function for HR on VIP Payroll.
  4. Leave Management: Update HR system on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis with leave balances and clock-in records.
  5. Scanning & Filing: Maintain electronic employee files and ensure all new documents are added to the HR record-keeping system.
  6. Industrial Relations: Attend to disciplinary steps as needed (counseling, written warnings, disciplinary hearings, and CCMA representation).
  7. Payroll Processing: Compile and submit payroll documents to the payroll department by the 20th of each month.
  8. Exit Process: Ensure completion of exit process and maintain the exit process file.
  9. Union Support: Assist with wage negotiations and maintain union administration records.
  10. Employment Equity: Assist in compiling Employment Equity reports once per year.
  11. Skills Development: Assist in compiling and submitting relevant skills development plans.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an HR role, preferably with Industrial Relations experience.
  • Fully bilingual - fluent in English and Afrikaans, written and spoken.
  • Strong self-confidence, effective time management, leadership skills, and solid people skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
