Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the implementation of the strategic sourcing strategy of the South African Reserve Bank.

This includes ensuring governance and compliance with the procurement policies and guidelines of the institution, as well as developing sectional operational plans aligned to the Financial Services Department and the bank.

The ideal candidate will drive the implementation of the sourcing and category management strategies, provide strategic guidance to category leads on selected sourcing mechanisms, and calculate and analyze the costs of procurement.

In addition, the successful candidate will research and identify reliable and trustworthy suppliers, strategize and negotiate with them to acquire cost-effective deals, and manage stakeholders within the supply chain to derive maximum economic benefit and continuity of supply to the bank.

The role also involves managing and overseeing the identification of opportunities for strategic sourcing within the South African Reserve Bank Group, including the identification of strategic partners, and employing negotiation strategies to secure profitable deals.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will analyze and integrate sectional management information for reporting to top management and other relevant stakeholders, and collaborate and liaise with the operations and governance sections to optimize the procurement and governance process in order to attain maximum efficiency.
