We are seeking a seasoned Building and Facilities Inspector to bolster our team at Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building inspection, with specific experience in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect hospital facilities, buildings, and infrastructure to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  2. Verify that construction, renovation, and maintenance projects adhere to building codes, zoning regulations, and healthcare facility guidelines.
  3. Assess the quality of construction workmanship and materials used in hospital facilities and recommend corrective actions to maintain standards.
  4. Identify potential hazards, safety concerns, and deficiencies in building systems, structures, and equipment, and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
  5. Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, observations, and recommendations for corrective actions.
  6. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and hospital staff to address inspection findings and ensure compliance with project requirements.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Building Inspector, with specific experience in the healthcare sector required.
  3. Thorough knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards applicable to healthcare facilities.
  4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and assess complex building issues.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
  6. Certification as a Building Inspector or similar credentials preferred.
