Job Description

**Job Title:** Head of Management Studies

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic leader to join our team at Varsity College as the Head of Management Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the academic team and overseeing the management of the School on campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Academic Leadership:** Provide strategic leadership and direction to the academic team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality academic programs and services.
  • **Management and Campus Support:** Manage the interface with the Head of School, plan resource allocation, review academic results, and implement teaching and learning strategies.
  • **Industry, Professional Management & Building Partnerships:** Develop and maintain relationships with professional industry, facilitate scholarly activities, and represent the college at external partner faculty boards.
  • **Lecturing:** Lecture up to 100 hours or 2 modules per semester, including supervision.
  • **Research & Scholarship:** Promote a culture of scholarship, contribute to the college's research output targets, and engage in approved formal research activity.
Requirements:
  • **Leadership and Management Skills:** Proven ability to lead and manage academic teams, with a strong understanding of higher education and private colleges.
  • **Professional/Advanced Communication Skills:** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.
  • **Organisational and Planning Skills:** Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • **Computer Literacy Competence:** Proficient in the use of computer software and technology, with a strong understanding of data analysis and interpretation.
  • **Tolerance for Operating in a Pressurised Environment:** Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of tolerance for pressure and stress.
  • **Teaching and Learning Expertise:** Advanced teaching and learning expertise, with a strong understanding of curriculum design and delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • **Minimum Qualification:** Masters or equivalent in relevant School (NQF Level 9) in Management Studies.
  • **Minimum Experience:** Minimum of 3 years teaching and learning experience, preferably in a teaching environment.
Working Hours and Salary:
  • **Working Hours:** Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00.
  • **Salary:** Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
