Position Overview

The Internal Communications Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing communication strategies that align with the organizational goals of Capita. This position requires a proactive approach to fostering relationships with stakeholders and ensuring effective messaging throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive internal communications plan that supports Capita's strategic vision.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with key stakeholders within the organization and the Divisional Communications Team.
  • Offer strategic communication support and guidance to senior management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate reputational risks.
  • Design, manage, and assess core communication channels to enhance engagement, with a particular emphasis on digital platforms.
  • Mentor and develop a network of communication advocates across various departments to ensure localized messaging aligns with corporate standards.
  • Partner with Operations to create and disseminate communications that meet client commitments and adhere to best practices.
  • Work alongside the divisional communications team to promote consistency in messaging and share best practices.
  • Provide expert advice on communication strategies and engagement initiatives to business units.
  • Adapt and execute key corporate and divisional campaigns within the organization.
  • Oversee the communications budget effectively.
  • Collaborate with Capita Group PR and the divisional communications team to manage local public relations and social media efforts.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Capita brand across all locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in communications is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in strategic communications, with a proven track record in managing announcements, annual reports, and crisis communications.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling cross-geographical communications and a comprehensive understanding of the communication value chain.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to inspire innovative solutions from stakeholders.
  • Experience in establishing and managing both traditional and digital communication channels.
  • Proficiency in branding and campaign management.
  • Experience in overseeing external vendors to fulfill communication and branding objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The authority and confidence to effectively challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
  • A broad understanding of current and emerging communication, branding, and engagement tools and techniques.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for various media.
  • A strong customer focus, capable of meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent skills in communication planning.

Management Responsibility:

This role includes supervisory responsibilities.
