Position Overview:

The IIE Varsity College Sandton Campus is looking for qualified individuals in the field of Commerce to enhance the teaching and research capabilities within the Faculty of Management Studies for the role of:

  • Transport Economics

Job Objective:

The main goal of this role is to provide effective teaching and facilitation on qualifications, alongside all related academic activities aimed at fostering student engagement and support to ensure their success and learning.

  • Facilitation and Lecturing
  • Assessment and Marking
  • Student Support and Guidance

Required Competencies:

  • Effective Time Management

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Preferred:

  • Honours degree in Supply Chain/Logistics Management; Business Management with a concentration in Logistics, Operations and Production Management, Warehousing, Integrated Logistics, and Transport Management.

Alternatively:

  • Honours in a related field of Supply Chain/Logistics Management (e.g., Purchasing, Operations/Production, Inventory, Sustainable Management, Warehousing) with Supply Chain Management and Logistics to the third-year level in the undergraduate qualification;
  • A Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration with Supply Chain/Logistics Management or a related field (e.g., Purchasing, Operations/Production, Inventory, Sustainable Management) to the third-year level, plus either an MBA/M.Com/MPhil or a postgraduate diploma in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in the commerce industry.
  • Teaching experience in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Operations, Production Management/Transportation, and Warehousing Management.
  • Professional experience as a Supply Chain Manager or Consultant.
  • Experience in Logistics, Warehousing, Purchasing, Production, Operations, or Inventory Management.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is classified as an Independent Contractor role.
