Transportation Management Lecturer

Job Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to deliver effective facilitation/lecturing on qualifications and all associated academic activities such as student engagement and support that will promote student success and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lecturing/Facilitation: Deliver high-quality lectures and facilitate learning experiences for students in the field of Transportation Management.
  • Marking: Evaluate student assignments and exams to ensure academic integrity and quality.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students to enhance their learning experience and promote student success.
Requirements
  • Communications skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Organisational skills: Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Time management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Qualification: Honours in Supply Chain Management/Logistics Management or a related field with a special focus on Logistics, Operations and Production Management, Warehousing, and Integrated Logistics and Transport Management.
  • Alternatively: Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration with Supply Chain Management/Logistics Management or a related field, plus an MBA/MCom/MPhil or a Postgraduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management and/or Logistics.
Work Experience
  • Industry experience in commerce.
  • Lecturing experience in Supply Chain Management/Integrated Logistics Management/Risk/Supply Chain/Logistics or Transportation Management.
  • Work experience as a logistics manager/supply chain manager/logistics or transportation manager.
Working Conditions
  • This is an Independent Contractor role.
  • Preference will be given to previously underrepresented groups in accordance with the South African Employment Equity Act.
