Job Title: Actuarial Pricing Strategist
About The Role:
The Recruitment Council is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Pricing Strategist to join our team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in developing and implementing market-leading pricing models that ensure profitability and sustainability within the Short-Term Insurance sector.
Main Responsibilities:
- Pricing Model Development: Design, develop, and maintain advanced pricing models for Short-Term Insurance products, ensuring they reflect market trends, risk factors, and business objectives.
- Data Analysis and Enhancement: Identify opportunities to improve data collection methods, rating structures, and analytics processes to inform and optimize pricing decisions.
- Model Performance Monitoring: Regularly review pricing models to track their performance against actual outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and making necessary adjustments.
- Pricing Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of pricing strategies for both new and existing products, ensuring they support growth and profitability goals.
- Product Development Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of innovative products, providing actuarial insights that drive product success.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure all pricing models comply with internal governance and external regulatory standards, implementing proper procedures for pricing deployment and ongoing monitoring.
- Data Analytics and Reporting: Utilize advanced data analytics to support business decisions, providing clear and actionable insights for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various business units, including underwriting, claims, and product development, to ensure pricing models align with overall business strategies and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences or a related field.
- Professional Qualification: A qualified actuary or nearly qualified actuary.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in actuarial modeling and pricing, particularly within the Short-Term Insurance industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in actuarial software and tools, including SQL, SAS, R, Python, and Earnix. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with functions like pivot tables, data analysis, and macros.
Compensation Package:
We offer a competitive salary range of R1,200,000 - R1,500,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and performance-based incentives.
