Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Develop and implement effective compliance and risk management strategies to ensure Salt Employee Benefits remains compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating potential risks.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Fund Governance
    • Provide guidance and support to the boards of the Umbrella Funds under our administration to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and implement effective governance frameworks to ensure the integrity and transparency of our operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and ensure Salt Employee Benefits remains compliant.
    • Develop and implement effective compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Provide regular reports to senior management and the board on compliance and risk management matters.
    • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • LLB, B Proc. or equivalent legal qualification.
    • Admission as an advocate or attorney of the High Court of South Africa will be an advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Detailed knowledge of Financial Services (preferably in the retirement fund industry) and its regulatory environment.
    • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of various statutes impacting Salt Employee Benefits, including but not limited to the Pension Funds Act, Long-term Insurance Act, Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act and subordinate legislation etc.
  • Skills
    • Litigation skills and experience.
    • Good verbal and report writing skills.
    • Good presentation skills (including communication and negotiation).
    • Good to excellent communication skills.
