At Quality Select Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Product Development Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle, from development and introduction to maintenance and retirement, for our automotive aftermarket product lines.

This role requires a deep understanding of the automotive aftermarket industry, exceptional market analysis skills, and the ability to drive product strategies that align with company objectives.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in product management, preferably with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field. However, exceptional candidates without a formal degree will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a Product Manager in the automotive aftermarket industry and possess in-depth knowledge of automotive aftermarket products, brands, and industry dynamics.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification, development, and launch of new products within the automotive aftermarket
  • Manage the entire product portfolio, including analyzing product performance, identifying opportunities for expansion, and making recommendations for product enhancement, replacement, or retirement
  • Identify and cross-match common parts across markets for inventory optimization and leveraging economy of scale
  • Conduct in-depth market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities
  • Liaise with Sales team and develop sales forecast on the assigned products
  • Develop and implement product strategies and roadmaps that align with the company's goals and objectives
  • Cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product development, launch, and marketing campaigns
  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new products, including pricing, sales & marketing collaboration, and distribution plans
  • Ensure that all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • MATRIC
  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Exceptional candidates without a formal degree will also be considered
  • Proven track record as a Product Manager in the automotive aftermarket industry, with at least 5 years of experience
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive aftermarket products, brands, and industry dynamics
  • Ability and willingness to travel within and out of South Africa
  • Owning own transport

The estimated salary for this position is R25000 - R30000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
