{"Duties and Responsibilities": "

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at The Recruitment Guy, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient support to enable the company's strategic goals. Your role will involve:

  • Providing generalist support to management on labour management
  • Implementing and maintaining labour-related policies and procedures
  • Facilitating satisfactory labour relations
  • Participating in collective negotiations
  • Maintaining Human Resources Department administration and communication

You will also be responsible for facilitating and interacting at a professional level with:

  • Management
  • Internal Mining Staff/Employees
  • Shop Stewards & Trade Union Officials
  • Various Service Providers
  • Payroll departments
  • Operators, Training and SHEQ Personnel
  • Statutory Bodies
  • Department of Labour, CCMA, Bargaining Councils etc
", "Policies and Procedures": "

You will assist management with the development, planning, and implementation of policies and procedures to facilitate effective employee relations. Additionally, you will provide guidance to management and employees regarding legislation, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices related to employee relations matters.

", "Communication": "

You will attend shop steward and employee representative meetings, attend wage negotiations and collective agreement discussions, participate in dispute resolution events, and compile and distribute staff briefs and minutes.

", "Advisory Capacity": "

You will advise management on labour relations issues, act as a liaison between employees and management, interpret management's proposals for union representatives, and provide guidance on best labour practices.

", "Training": "

You will facilitate training of management and employees on labour relations legislation, liaise with Service Providers for relevant training, and ensure that all employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively.

", "Recruitment and Onboarding": "

You will be responsible for drafting job descriptions, drafting and placing advertisements, shortlisting candidates, arranging competency testing, drafting interview questionnaires, interviewing candidates, performing reference checks, implementing onboarding documentation, and conducting induction for new staff members.

", "Termination Process": "

You will facilitate, communicate, and action terminations, prepare exit documents for signature by employees, issue UI19, salary schedule, and certificate of service, monitor and ensure that all statutory monies and provident fund are paid, and submit documents to payroll.

", "Payroll": "

You will process and prepare hours for payroll according to deadlines, process and file leave and other forms, check payslips and no hour report, print and issue payslips, attend to payroll-related queries of employees, attend to provident fund withdrawals and claims, receive and capture garnishee orders from the Sheriff, update and file wage files.

", "Employee Relations": "

You will investigate alleged misconducts, collate evidence, advise employees and management on best labour practices, initiate and chair disciplinary hearings, represent the company at the Bargaining Council and CCMA, establish and maintain healthy relationships between management, workforce, and union, facilitate management and union meetings, manage and report on union membership.

", "Administration": "

You will ensure employee documentation and files are up to date, implement employment contracts, and perform other administrative tasks as required.

", "General Responsibilities": "

You will be responsible for complying with and reinforcing the company's Rules and Regulations, ensuring that work is completed on time and deadlines are met, performing other tasks from time to time as required by your Head of Department or workload.

", "Requirements": "

Applicants must have a relevant Human Resources related tertiary qualification at NQF Level 5 or above, 3+ years of experience with trade unions and negotiations, 3-5 years of experience in a similar-sized organization, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint, knowledge of payroll procedures, knowledge of applicable labour legislation, and a valid driver's license with own reliable vehicle.
