Job Description

Tower Group is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager to lead our national commercial and supply chain portfolio in the Durban, Cape Town, and Johannesburg regions.

About the Role

This challenging position requires a senior manager with a positive attitude, tenacity, energy, and ambition to drive commercial/business development and sales performance while taking full accountability for short-, medium-, and long-term results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a commercial strategy to support growth ambitions
  • Standardize commercial processes and practices across all regions
  • Omitize and maintain commercial and strategic relations with key supply chain partners
  • Collaborate with supply chain partners to develop a ring-fenced commercial model for inbound and outbound cargo
  • Work with operations teams to develop Africa commercial strategies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of senior management or leadership experience in the supply chain, logistics, import & exports industry
  • Commercial experience in warehousing, supply chain, logistics, and refined metal exports
  • Strategic selling competencies to shape and refocus the business for short-, medium-, and long-term growth
  • Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels (CEO, board, customer, and staff/management)
