Purchasing Special Projects Manager Role

The Purchasing Special Projects Manager at Abantu Staffing Solutions is responsible for overseeing all special projects within the Purchasing department (SPA). This includes managing relationships and negotiations with suppliers, piloting the utilization of supplier panels in programs and series production, and ensuring timely delivery of all programs in line with key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, ideally with a Professional Purchasing qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing in an industrial environment, preferably in serial life or program settings.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and negotiating contracts.
  • Automotive experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of supply portfolios and market research and analysis.
  • Understanding of sourcing strategies and applications, including make-or-buy analysis.
  • Deep understanding of business practices, market dynamics, and trends.
  • Knowledge of contractual and legal aspects.
  • International mindset.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Ability to influence and drive productivity.
  • Knowledge of assigned commodities and financial skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the purchasing panel policy for assigned commodities.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiations, supported by the division.
  • Ensure the strategic panel is implemented in the development phase, including supplier nomination committees.
  • Drive productivity action plans and establish rules for productivity sharing between suppliers and the company.
  • Manage and drive supplier quality and delivery performance.
  • Address supplier insolvencies and develop corrective action plans.
  • Develop and implement tools to enhance global productivity.
  • Ensure reporting of activities in line with defined policies.
