German Speaking Senior FIT Travel Consultant

Our client, a leading Destination Management Company, is seeking a highly skilled German Speaking Senior FIT Travel Consultant to join their team in Cape Town. As a German Speaking Senior FIT Travel Consultant, you will be responsible for designing and preparing travel itineraries in Southern Africa for FIT clients, ensuring that the entire process meets the company's policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and preparation of travel itineraries in Southern Africa for FIT clients
- Design and cost of Leisure Travel programmes within the company's Destination portfolio
- Correspond with clients via email and telephone to discuss programmes offered and deal with any questions or obstacles
- Encourage clients to send their enquiries to enable the opportunity to quote a suitable programme
- On confirmation, make all bookings and plan travel programmes
- Invoicing of client travel programme
- Contract suppliers and liaise with them during the planning stages and of the itinerary
- Manage workload efficiently and prioritise Key Clients and urgent requests
- Manage proposal response time and assist where necessary
- Prepare Daily todo lists and send them to Team Leader and Director (CVDM) with relevant comments by end of day
- Implement and Maintain Smart quoting
- Attend daily standup meetings
- Practise clear, concise and effective communication with clients, Management and team
- Find a solution and take immediate action on any issues, client complaints, staff requirements, keeping the team leader informed in a structured and timeous manner
Requirements:
- German speaker with professional fluency
- Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hotel Management or Events Management
- At least 5 years working experience within the travel industry or similar environment
- Extensive Travel and Tourism Knowledge of Southern African Destinations: South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique
- Working knowledge of the Leisure Travel Industry
- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and proven track record in use thereof
- Knowledge of the Travel writing programmes: WETU and Travelogic an advantage
- Experience in the planning and of FIT Travel Programmes
