Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our team at Arvo. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with taxation regulations, and providing financial support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transaction Management: Manage day-to-day financial transactions for various clients using Xero or Sage accounting software.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely processing of cashbook entries, invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit income tax, EMP, and VAT returns using the SARS e-filing system.
  • Payroll Management: Prepare monthly payroll on Simplepay for various clients.
  • Annual Submissions: File annual returns (CIPC) and Beneficial Ownership declarations (CIPC).
  • Compliance and Liaison: Ensure compliance with taxation regulations and liaise with SARS as and when necessary.
  • Financial Close: Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare financial statements and reports on a regular basis.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting (SAIPA).
  • Experience: Proven work experience (1 year post article) as an accountant.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, excellent organizational and time-management skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work independently and as part of a team, effective communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of South African taxation laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Preferred Qualifications: SAIPA completed articles.

Salary and Location:

R CTC per month, Stellenbosch (office based).
