About the Role:

The Payroll Officer role is based in Pretoria West and reports to the Payroll Controller. The successful incumbent will manage the Payroll function, generate accurate and timely monthly payrolls, and work with HR and other departments to improve payroll processes and provide analysis of corporate payroll-related statistics.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Payroll administration and management
  • Reviewing and processing payroll information
  • Calculation and accounting of payroll components
  • Actioning and filing payroll-related correspondence
  • End-to-end payroll processing management
  • Liaising with staff and management on payroll matters
  • Interpreting payroll-related awards and agreements
  • Calculating and processing termination and increase payments
  • Responsible for payroll reporting and reconciliation
  • Payslip production and distribution
  • POPIA compliance
  • Tax directive management
  • IRP5/IT3(A) certificate control
  • Business requirements reporting

Key Requirements:
  1. Accounting degree or diploma
  2. Minimum 3 years payroll experience
  3. Experience with large payroll systems
  4. SAP experience beneficial
  5. Knowledge of payroll regulations and laws
