Bar Back Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Bar Back to join our team at Delaire (Pty) Ltd. As a Bar Back, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bar, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Beverages: Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beers, and wines, to our guests.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations to enhance their experience.
  • Inventory Management: Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies, ensuring that we have everything needed to provide excellent service.
  • Bar Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Quality Control: Check drinks presentations and temperature to ensure that they meet our quality standards.
  • Pre-Service Preparation: Ensure that the bar is set up and ready for service, including checking the coffee machine, ice machine, and fridges.
  • Loss Prevention: Minimize loss through breakage, waste, theft, and incorrect orders.
  • Stock Management: Assist management in taking bar stock and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Main Requirements:
  • Experience: Preferably 2-3 years of experience as a Barman or in a related role.
  • Transportation: Own transport is required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments and across cultures and religions.
  • Professionalism: Professional manner and attitude, with a focus on honesty, flexibility, accountability, and friendliness.
  • Attention to Detail: Extreme attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Basic computer and administration skills.
